In 1873, Eliza Tibbets planted two small Bahia Orange trees in Riverside, California.  The Bahia orange tree was renamed the Washington Navel for it's "belly button" base.  By planting those two small orange trees, Eliza gave birth to citrus industry in California. 

In 1885, the Washington Navel Orange captured both the gold and silver medals at the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial in New Orleans.  The City of Riverside immediately began a promotional program proclaiming Riverside as "The Greatest Orange Growing City in the World." 

Today, nearly all of the Washington navel orange trees grown in California are descended from these two original trees, one of which still grows at the intersection of Arlington and Magnolia Ave. in Riverside, Ca. 

Orange Grove Painting is based in Riverside, Ca just blocks away from that very same orange tree planted back in 1873 that gave birth to the orange groves all over Riverside and California.  It stands as a testament of hard work, perseverance, and the ability to transform an industry.  All of which are similar characteristics that we strive to weave into our business and everything that we do.  We love the city of Riverside.  We strive to do our best for our community, our kids, and our environment.
